The Gathering

of internet bowling friends

This annual event was previously called "The Official BallReviews Gathering." While its roots will always be associated with Ball Reviews, participation over the last couple of years has expanded to include members of other online bowling communities. As such, the name has been changed to include and welcome bowlers from all places on the Internet. Once per year, bowlers descend on Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Creekside lanes for bowling, friendship, and bowling. More about the event.

We have a dedicated web site for the event which is new for this year. Jay Anderson (JAnderson from BallReviews.com and BowlingBoards.com) and his wife Kat were nominated at last year's event to be the new organizers after the untimely passing of Colleen "Thong Princess" Becker. Ron "Magic Carpet" Clifton, his wife Karen, and the staff at Creekside lanes organize the event at the bowling center and are the most gracious hosts a bowler could want.

The 2010 Gathering is over, but it's safe to say the group had an excellent time. You could even say it was hot (the air conditioners at the bowling center weren't working at full capacity). The winner of this year's Thong Princess/Colleen Becker Second Annual Bragging Rights Tournament (TPCBSABRT?!?!) was Keenan Kramer from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The scratch event winner was Steve Ostrove from Maryland. We'll post the full results this week.

who is invited?

Any and all bowlers with a love of bowling and a positive attitude towards their fellow bowlers are welcome. As it is also a social event, it's a great way to "put a face to the name" of fellow members of Internet bowling forums and community sites.
